Can anyone attend sunday school at PGBC ?
We welcome everyone to attend Sunday School with us. On a typical Sunday, Sunday School begins at 9:45 am.

What are the worship services like?
Our services represent a combination of the familiar elements of worship and contemporary music and ministry. Our choirs sing a collection of traditional hymns and modern christian music, and we also have a Praise Dance ministry. There's something for everyone to enjoy during our services.

For your convenience, Bibles, hymnals and visitor card can be found in slots located on the back of many of the pews. We hope that you would fill out a visitor's card so that we can keep in touch and you informed of the happenings at PBGC. The 11:00 am service generally lasts about 90 minutes.

What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable at our worship services. Typically members and visitors wear their Sunday best; members of the ministerial staff dress conservatively, as do many officers of the church. Others dress more casually, but always respectfully. Just come as you are, we're sure you'll fit in!

Where should I park?
For your convenience, parking spaces are available on three sides of the church there are two reserved spaces, one for our Pastor the other for the guest speaker for the day. There are also several handicap spaces available.

Am I allowed to take Communion?
In our church, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the Second Sunday of each month. Communion is available to all professed Christians, be they members of other churches or members of other denominations.

If your children are attending Children's Church in the Fellowship Hall, a Christian Education department volunteer will escort them to the sanctuary with the other children should they wish to participate in communion.

Can you accommodate large groups of visitors?
We will gladly accommodate the seating of your large groups, such as a family or class reunions, with prior notice. Kindly call the church office at (434) 978-7198 or email our visitor's support contact. We can also help to make arrangements for bus parking, if required.

Can I meet the pastor?
At the close of the service, Pastor Shirley Chapman will make her way down from the pulpit to mingle with the congregation. We welcome you to introduce yourself to her before you leave.

Do you acknowledge visitors to the church?
We publicly recognize visitors during a portion of our service. We ask that you provide your contact information on a visitor's card before you leave and give to a designated member of our church family so that we can keep you up to date on what's going on at PGBC.

How do I become a member of PGBC?
During each worship service, we issue an Invitation to Discipleship where we invite parishioners seeking a church home to join us at the altar. This invitation is extended to people who are new to the PGBC, people who are members of another church and wish to transfer their membership to PGBC, and to those who wish to temporarily affiliate with PGBC while they are away from their church homes.

The pastor welcomes new members and introduces them to the congregation. New members are then asked to see a designated member of the church to whom they will give their contact information. You will also be provided information on new member classes.

You may also call the church office at (434) 978-1090 to discuss your prospective membership with the pastor.
